I leave you with Detroit in a nutshell: A half million dollar super car driving past a run down liquor store in a shit neighborhood right next to Ford WHQ...

Your chance photo is far from being “. ..Detroit in a nutshell ”.
FYI....Ford moved their World HQ out of the “Ren Cen” from Detroit back to Dearborn, Michigan in the late 1990's after which General Motors stepped-in and made it their World HQ.
Since then, a lot of people and businesses, large and small, have slowly evolved downtown Detroit and the surrounding area into a collection of some pretty cool places to visit and live. New Restaurants and Clubs, Sporting Event Venues and Arts. Apartments / Lofts in the Mid-Town area are sought-after places to live in the city.

Yea but thats still forgetting that most of Detroit is still “run down liquor store in a shit neighborhood”. Downtown, midtown, etc. are all great but take a drive through one of the sides.

I literally live here... Maybe 5% of the area is what you just described.
